Report: Glenn Beck fires on GM Akerson over the $1 gas proposed tax appeals "rotten" Volt [video w]

  • If there is one thing that becomes true on the Chevrolet Volt quickly, it is that the right political experts really, really don't like it. Thus, we will admit at the outset that this story comes directly from the "predictable and it is not new when an idiot said something stupid" file, but it is always a value of something.

What is the deal? Well, apparently, Fox News, Glenn Beck and presidential candidate Republican Herman Cain seems beyond the pale of the CEOs of General Motors, Dan Akerson, to have called for an increase in the gasoline tax. Beck got his dander, telling Akerson (through the camera):

I saw your crappy new electric car, and nobody bought it... A 50-cent gasoline tax would make everyone puke. Dollar could make me puke my heart and lungs. There is a bipartisan pukage going on here with GM, and this is what happens when gas back.

There is no context or the reasons for which a tax on gasoline might be a good thing, but Beck links Akerson and George Soros, one of the favorite targets of Beck), and others through the Carlyle Group. See for yourself after the jump. Discussion of gas tax starts at 26: 30 minute.
