Video: Audi TDi Le Mans R18 terrifying of Allan McNish crash

    Less than an hour at the 2011 24 hours of le Mans, the R18 Audi TDI of Allan McNish is out of contention. With McNish behind the wheel, the gravi R18 slowest traffic entered GT in the curve of Dunlop. Instead of choirs, McNish tried to shoot the gap under a slower Ferrari 458 Italia. As McNish has reached the height of the corner, he touched the Ferrari, sending both cars hard into the barrier.

    The R18 got airborne in gravel and a wall of tires violently laterally, photographers and viewers of spraying with wheels, suspension parts and large pieces of monocoque carbon fibre. Despite the seriousness of the accident, McNish was able to go under his power after that marshals restated the remains of his prototype of diesel.


    It is good to know McNish is ok, and our thoughts are with the photographers and the marshals, who has been sprayed with crash debris. Ultimately, McNish probably should not have drawn the divide this early in the race. To see the terrifying full video, click on past the jump.
